I am doing this myself now. I personally think a non-oily cleaner works, I like TSP with warm water. If you&#039;re removing old stain definitely sand and completely remove old stain. 

To seal it, a non-yellowing top coat I prefer is anything water based, a polycrylic sealer is my favorite. Several thin coats work well (I do 4-5 on my pieces, and water based dries quickly). Water based sealer will stay true to their color and come come in different sheens.]]></description>
