I’m just now getting the hang of this blogging thing and discovered ways that I can explore other like-minded bloggers. In the DIY section of “Freshly Pressed” I found this article about simple living called, “A Minimalist Living Starter Guide”. Ultimately, this is my goal, and we are embracing it…one Goodwill donation at a time.
Very Zen…I love this concept. After my fiancee and I sold one of our two houses and having witnessed the accumulation of “stuff” from both lifestyles, I’d really like to strive for the simple life from this point forward. Having “possessions” is what ties us down. I like that the author of this article explains that having meaningful possessions is still okay, and embracing this lifestyle should be done slowly.
My goal with living minimally would be to free up our resources for more travel. There are so many places we’ve never been. But having lots of “things” costs us more than just our living space, as the article explains.
Where in your life have you started to make a change? For us, it was purging our “stuff” as a first step.
Grab a cup of tea and enjoy!
