A year ago this month on a Saturday morning, I begrudgingly put away my Christmas decorations while lamenting at how plain my house looked post-holiday. While this is pretty typical of most families who built their first home, I wanted to give my home some much needed character.
My budget was very tight (nearly non-existent) but the number of projects I needed to accomplish was overwhelming. I certainly had beer-drinker’s-budget-with-champagne-taste-syndrome.
That evening in a huff, I grabbed a chop saw and started cutting chair rails (first time ever). I resolved to transform the interior of my home from a builder’s grade, plain white, cookie-cutter house…into a home. Rather than Facebook my friends to death about my projects, I took to blogging as another creative outlet to showcase my home’s transformation. I was committed to the cheapest way to transform the house possible.
I had no idea that an entire community of bloggers think exactly like me!
So I am entering a contest today to showcase a few of my projects. Here is a look back at other inspirational projects and talented bloggers that I hope to meet in person and learn from in 2013!
