Christina, technically (I&#039;ve since learned) wax isn&#039;t the &quot;welcome&quot; technique for outdoor use.  So a poly would be best to protect it from the elements. Wax tends to get sticky and melt so an alternative top coat like the ones you&#039;re using would be best.  Thanks for stopping by!]]></description>
