Yes our couches are the Ektorps from Ikea. They are discontinuing them so now is a great time to get the slipcovers, too. We have 3 of these couches and love them! The chairs were from Sam’s Club but I’ve linked similar chairs from Wayfair in the post.

I have debated painting our white mantel but our room is south facing so always feels dark and the white seems to lightened up that end of the room along with white Ikea bookcases. How narrow is your room? I describe our family room as a bowling alley 20’x12’. In all the years we have lived in our home I have yet to find a furniture arrangement that I like or feels balanced. I’ve never tried a smaller sectional sofa but if I buy one more sofa that has to be returned my husband will not be happy. Any id

Hi Frani – I didn’t paint the hearth because we are replacing the entire floor eventually so we will just tear that up. I’m also planning to either remove or cover the mirror. As for paint, it’s called “Garden Trowel” by Magnolia – found at Target. No prep, just painted because it’s chalk paint. I used less than a quart.

I believe you used Southern Gentlemen in the Rescue Restore Paint line. Is that correct? Did you do any sanding or other prep? It doesn’t look like you painted your hearth. Why? How much paint will I need to do approximately the same size area? It’s a great look!!!
