In reply to <a href="https://www.snazzylittlethings.com/refinishing-buffet-progress/#comment-1276">Trisha D.</a>.

Trisha, thanks for the comments and for stopping by. I think I will end up staining it eventually or a high gloss paint. But I always enjoy my pieces in phases, so after I get tired of the plain wood, this piece will definitely transform (again). And any buffet less than $100 is worth it! I saw your post and it was beautiful, but next time, right?

Oh my goodness that piece is simply gorgeous! I actually spotted a similar piece at our local thrift store. I think it was under $100 so I guess I should have scooped it up. Too bad the beau is very strict on my 'no more furniture' policy!

I think the piece would look beautiful in a dark Ebony stain or painted a bold color. I'm one of those who doesn't mind painting a piece or staining it if it's in good condition.

Ha ha I agree. It's hard for me to bite my tongue sometimes because my family made their living out of stripping furniture down to bare wood and re-staining it. Never was it considered "ruined"...what was ruining this piece before I bought it was that it was collecting mildew in an old, outdoor shed. :) thanks for stopping by, Pam!

I saw that on Hometalk. There are some passionate furniture people on there :) I really like the naked wood look on that myself. Sort of reminds me of a Mediterranean piece now.
